Photography is in my DNA. My grandfather was an avid amateur film photographer, and—to this day—a small box of his photographs remains one of my most treasured possessions.

To hold in my hands the art he created generations ago—and to steal a peek into the wondrous world of my mother as a child—is such a precious gift. I love that my work as a family and maternity photographer allows me to give that same coveted gift to mothers and their children (and, one day, their children’s children).

While I’ve been shooting on film on and off for a decade, I still feel something within me come alive every time I pick up a film camera. It allows me the ability to slow time. To see modern motherhood through an age-old artform. To capture heart-warming connections in the most mesmerizing tones. To render mums speechless when they hold my photos in their hands and finally see what the world has always known: the fact that they are loved beyond measure.

If you ask me, there is nothing more powerful than the purity of your love, suspended in time via this timeless artform.
